A No Objection Certificate (NOC) is a formal written statement from an authority — typically an employer, sponsor, bank, or government body — confirming that it has no objection to a specific action the holder wants to take. In the UAE, NOCs are commonly required to transfer a job, rent or sell property, open a business, travel a dependent out of the country, cancel a visa, or register a vehicle. The certificate is usually short, addressed "To Whom It May Concern," stamped, and dated. An NOC does not by itself create a legal right; it only removes an objection that would otherwise block the transaction. Requirements, language, and validity periods vary by authority.
