Scope & Acceptance

These terms apply to all lawyers and law firms registered on LEXAI. By creating a lawyer or firm account, you agree to be bound by these Lawyer Terms in addition to the general Terms of Service.

These terms govern your use of the marketplace, commission structure, AI tools, and professional obligations.

Off-Platform Prohibition

You agree not to solicit, contact, or provide services to any client introduced through LEXAI outside of the platform for a period of 12 months from the date of introduction.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Exchanging personal contact details during consultations for future off-platform engagement
  • Directing clients to your personal website or office for subsequent consultations
  • Using client information obtained through LEXAI for marketing purposes

Violation of this clause may result in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of any held earnings.

Commission Rates

LEXAI charges a commission on each paid consultation booking. The rate depends on your subscription tier:

  • Starter: 15% commission
  • Growth: 12% commission
  • Pro: 8% commission
  • Firm Starter: 10% commission
  • Firm Growth: 7% commission
  • Firm Pro: 5% commission

Commission rates are subject to change with 30 days' notice. Free Messaging between clients and lawyers carries no commission.

Verification Obligations

You must:

  • Provide accurate and current professional credentials
  • Maintain an active bar licence throughout your time on the platform
  • Notify LEXAI within 7 days of any changes to your licence status
  • Renew credentials before expiry — failure results in automatic profile suspension
  • Not misrepresent your qualifications, specialisations, or experience

Consultation & Cancellation Rules

  • You must respond to booking requests within 12 hours (accept or decline)
  • Failure to respond results in automatic request expiry
  • If you accept, the client receives a payment link
  • You may cancel at any time, but the client receives a full refund
  • Repeated cancellations affect your acceptance rate and may trigger review
  • Consultations must be conducted professionally and within the agreed format

Payout Schedule

  • Payouts are processed after each consultation is completed
  • A 24-hour dispute window applies after consultation completion
  • If no dispute is raised, payouts are approved automatically
  • Payouts will be transferred to your bank account via Stripe Connect once activated
  • Processing time: 2-5 business days after Stripe Connect activation
  • All payouts are in AED

Account Suspension

Your account may be suspended if:

  • Your acceptance rate drops below 60%
  • You receive 3+ disputes in a 30-day period
  • Your average rating drops below 3.0 stars
  • You violate the off-platform prohibition
  • Your professional licence expires or is revoked
  • You violate the Acceptable Use Policy

Suspended accounts are hidden from search results until the issue is resolved.

Disciplinary Process

  • First violation: Written warning via email
  • Second violation: 7-day account suspension
  • Third violation: Permanent ban + forfeiture of held earnings
  • Serious violations (fraud, impersonation): Immediate permanent ban

You may appeal any suspension by contacting support@lexai.ae within 14 days.
