Amer centres are the authorised service centres that process GDRFA Dubai transactions — the immigration counterpart of Tasheel for labour matters. At an Amer centre you can apply for and renew residence visas, sponsor family members, process entry permits, change visa status without exiting the country, cancel visas and settle overstay fines. The centres are privately operated under government licence, with standardised fees, and they replaced the typing offices that previously handled immigration paperwork in Dubai. Practically every Dubai resident has used an Amer centre, often through their company PRO. Immigration lawyers and corporate PRO teams rely on Amer for routine filings and to fix problems — rejected applications, sponsorship complications, status adjustments after job loss or divorce — before escalating anything to GDRFA itself.
