Absconding Case
بلاغ تغيب
An absconding case (bulaq taghayyub) is a formal report filed by a UAE employer or sponsor with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) or the ICP against a worker or dependent who has been absent from work for a continuous period — typically seven consecutive days — without a valid excuse, and cannot be reached. A validated absconding report suspends the worker's labour card, cancels eligibility for end-of-service benefits, and can lead to an entry ban that prevents return to the UAE on any visa. Workers have the right to object to a false report through MOHRE's complaint channels or, for domestic workers, through Tadbeer. A withdrawn or overturned report must be formally closed, or its effects will persist.
