Article 2
Article (2) A Judicial Council is hereby established in the Emirate of Dubai and is formed as follows: 1. His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as chairman; 2. the Director of His Highness the Ruler’s Court, as vice chairman; 3. the Attorney General, as member; 4. the Director of the Dubai Courts, as member; 5. the Head of the Court of Cassation, as member; 6. the Head of the Court of Appeal, as member; 7. the Head of the Court of First Instance, as member; and 8. the Director of Judicial Inspection, as member. ©2019 The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai 1Every effort has b een made to produce an accurate and complete English version of this legislation. Article (2) The following Article (7)bis is hereby inserted into the Original Law:

Article (3) Any provision in any other legislation will be repealed to the extent that it contradicts the provisions of this Law.

Article (4) This Law comes into force on the day on which it is issued, and will be published in the Official Gazette. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Ruler of Dubai Issued in Dubai on 7 February 2014 Corresponding to 7 Rabi al-Thani 1435 A.H.

Article 7
Article (7)bis The Judicial Council will have a general secretariat headed by a secretary general. The secretary general will be appointed by a decree of the Ruler, and his duties and functions will be determined pursuant to a regulation issued by the Judicial Council.
