MOJ (Ministry of Justice)

The Ministry of Justice (MOJ) is the federal authority responsible for the administration of the federal court system, the regulation of the legal profession, and the delivery of core justice services across the UAE. Its core functions include licensing and supervising advocates, legal consultants and translators; operating the federal Public Notary offices that authenticate powers of attorney, contracts and affidavits; running the Rental Disputes and Labour mediation sections in several emirates; and maintaining the federal judicial databases. The MOJ also houses the Federal Public Prosecution in its federal structure and issues executive regulations to federal judicial laws. Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah have kept their own local judicial departments, while MOJ handles the federal judiciary across the other emirates.
