Article (1) Articles (1) and (13) of the Original Law will be superseded by the following:

Article (1) a. Public prosecution functions will be performed by the attorney general who will be assisted by a sufficient number of senior advocates general, advocates general, chief public prosecutors, public prosecutors, and assistant public prosecutors. They will all perform their duties in accordance with the legislation in force. b. Pursuant to a decree of the Ruler, an assistant attorney general will be appointed from among senior advocates general. c. Where the attorney general is absent or his office falls vacant for any reason, the assistant attorney general, or a member of the public prosecution, in order of seniority, will perform all functions of the attorney general. © 2014 The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai 1Every effort has been made to produce an accurate and complete English version of this legislation. Article (2) This Law comes into force on the day on which it is issued, and will be published in the Official Gazette. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Ruler of Dubai Issued in Dubai on 27 October 2014 Corresponding to 3 Muharram 1436 A.H.

Article (13) a. The seniority of a member of the public prosecution in his grade will be determined based on the number and date of the decree appointing or promoting that member, unless otherwise determined by that decree. b. The seniority of a member of the public prosecution transferred from the public prosecution to Dubai Courts, or vice versa, will be determined by the date of appointing or promoting that member to the grade in which he was serving before the transfer. c. The seniority of a re-appointed member of the public prosecution will be determined in the decree re-appointing him.
