Article (2) The following words and expressions, wherever mentioned in this Law, will have the meaning indicated opposite each of them unless the context implies otherwise: Emirate: The Emirate of Dubai. Executive Council: The Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai. DTCM: The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. Director General: The director general of the DTCM. ©2015 The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai1Every effort has been made to produce an accurate and complete English version of this legislation. However, for the purpose of its interpretation and application, reference must be made to the original Arabic text. In case of conflict the Arabic text will prevail.

Law No. (1) of 2013 Amending Law No. (30) of 2009 Concerning the Events and Promotions Establishment Page 2 of 2 DEPE: The Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment. CEO: The chief executive officer of the DEPE. Events: Public entertainment and marketing events, including but not limited to, festivals, ceremonies, plays, and all types of competitions organised within the Emirate, including Special Development Zones and free zones.

Article 2
Article (2) The fees and fines collected for licensing and for services rendered by the DEPE will be paid to the DEPE, and any entity collecting these Revenues must transfer them to the account of the DEPE.

Article 3
Article (3) Any provision in any other legislation will be repealed to the extent that it contradicts the provisions of this Law.

Article 4
Article (4) This Law comes into force on the day on which it is issued, and will be published in the Official Gazette. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Ruler of Dubai Issued in Dubai on 4 February 2013 Corresponding to 23 Rabi al-Awwal 1434 A.H.
