Article (2) The following words and expressions, wherever mentioned in this Law, will have the meaning indicated opposite each of them, unless the context implies otherwise: Ruler : His Highness the Ruler of Dubai. Government: The Government of Dubai. DW: Dubai World. Chairman: The chairman of the DW. Board of Directors: The board of directors of the DW. ©2014 The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai 1 Every effort has been made to produce an accurate and complete English version of this legislation. However, for the purpose of its interpretation and application, reference must be made to the original Arabic text. In case of conflict, the Arabic text will prevail.

Article 2
Article (2) This Law comes into force on the day on which it is issued, and will be published in the Official Gazette. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Ruler of Dubai Issued in Dubai on 23 June 2011 Corresponding to 21 Rajab 1432 A.H.

Article 3
Article (3) Pursuant to this Law, a public corporation known as “Dubai World” is established. The DW will have legal personality and financial and administrative autonomy. It will be managed on a commercial basis, and will be affiliated to the DFSF.

Article 15
Article (15) Neither the Government nor the DFSF will be responsible for any debts or obligations claimed from the DW or its Subsidiaries.
