    Article (1) Articles (1) and (2) of the Original Decree are hereby superseded by the following: Definitions

    Article (1) The following words and expressions, wherever mentioned in this Decree, will have the meaning indicated opposite each of them unless the context implies otherwise: Emirate: The Emirate of Dubai. DLD: The Land Department. Granted Land: Any land plot designated for industrial or commercial use and whose usufruct is granted to UAE Nationals. This includes: 1. land plots in respect of which disposition orders are issued; and 2. land plots which are conveyed to others by way of inheritance, assignment, gift, or in return for consideration. Beneficiary: A UAE National who is awarded Granted Land. UAE National: Any person who holds the nationality of the United Arab Emirates. Real Property Project: A project for the development of Granted Land or of any part thereof; the construction of infrastructure and common utilities thereon; subdivision of ©2022 The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai 1 Every effort has been made to produce an accurate and complete English version of this legislation.     Article 2

    Article (2) Upon the request of a Beneficiary, the freehold title to his Granted Land may be transferred to him without any restriction on the use, exploitation, or disposition thereof, provided that he has a completed or under-construction Real Property Project on this land. The transfer of title will be subject to the relevant rules and conditions prescribed by the DLD. Publication and Commencement
