PRO services — from 'public relations officer', the traditional title for a company's government-liaison agent — are the document-processing and government-transaction services that keep a UAE company and its workforce compliant: work permits and visa applications, renewals and cancellations, Emirates ID processing, medical test bookings, licence renewals, immigration and labour file updates, attestation runs, and fine settlements across MOHRE, ICP, GDRFA, and economic departments. Companies either employ an in-house PRO or outsource to licensed PRO firms; free zones often provide PRO functions as part of their service bundles. The legal dimension is accountability: the PRO acts on powers of attorney and portal access credentials, so errors — a missed renewal, an unauthorised cancellation, a fraudulent submission — raise agency and liability questions, and credential misuse is a recurring fraud vector. In disputes, PRO records and portal logs often establish exactly what was filed, by whom, and when.
