Legal Translation
الترجمة القانونية
Legal translation in the UAE means translation of documents by a translator licensed by the Ministry of Justice, whose stamped translation is accepted by courts and government bodies. Because onshore court proceedings are conducted in Arabic, every foreign-language contract, email exchange, expert report or judgment you want to rely on must be filed with a sworn Arabic translation; conversely, Arabic documents often need certified English translation for use abroad or in DIFC/ADGM courts, which operate in English. Accuracy is not cosmetic: a mistranslated clause can change the meaning of your key evidence, and opponents do challenge translations. Beyond litigation, legal translation is required for notarisation and attestation chains — powers of attorney, memoranda of association, birth and marriage certificates. You meet it before filing any case with foreign documents, when signing notarised instruments as a non-Arabic speaker, and in every cross-border corporate or personal paperwork exercise touching the UAE.
