Dubai Police is the emirate's law enforcement force and, for most people, the entry point to the UAE criminal justice system. The force also issues police clearance certificates needed for jobs and visas, handles traffic accidents and fines, runs the eCrime portal for cybercrime reports, and manages criminal status checks that reveal whether a case or travel ban exists against a person. Residents meet Dubai Police when reporting or facing a complaint; lawyers engage at the station stage to file complaints precisely, accompany clients in questioning, and obtain case numbers needed to track files.
