ArbitrateAD is Abu Dhabi's flagship arbitration institution, launched in 2024 as the successor to the long-standing Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation and Arbitration Centre (ADCCAC). It administers commercial arbitrations under modernised rules featuring an independent Court of Arbitration, provisions for expedited proceedings and emergency arbitrators, and a default seat in Abu Dhabi with hearings commonly hosted in ADGM facilities. The relaunch was part of Abu Dhabi's push to compete as a regional disputes hub alongside Dubai's DIAC. Businesses meet ArbitrateAD through arbitration clauses in contracts with Abu Dhabi government-linked entities, construction projects and commercial ventures in the emirate. Arbitration counsel encounter it when older contracts referencing ADCCAC transition to the new rules, and when drafting Abu Dhabi-seated dispute resolution clauses.
