Article 1
Article (1) The following words and expressions will have the meaning indicated opposite each of them unless the context implies otherwise: Emirate: The Emirate of Dubai. RTA: The Roads and Transport Authority. Executive Director: The executive director of the RTA. Road: Any public way on which traffic movement is allowed, including main roads, side roads, and byroads; streets; public squares; bridges; tunnels; interchanges; road median strips; public car parks; pavements; pedestrian crossings; navigable canals; and quays. Road Elements: All essential or decorative materials and equipment forming a Road, including pavements, tiles, asphalt, barriers, fences, lamp posts, distribution boards and their appurtenances, metal poles and their fittings, traffic lights, sign boards, warning signs, benches, sunshades, fountains, models, and other materials and equipment. Accident: An act that causes damage to a Road or to a Road Element, including traffic accidents and other accidents resulting from performing construction works, connecting services, or performing any other intentional or unintentional acts.
