Article (1) This Regulation will be cited as “Regulation No. (3) of 2002 Concerning Registration Fees for Participation in Exhibitions and Symposia”.

Article (2) The following words and expressions will have the meaning indicated opposite each of them unless the context implies otherwise: Emirate: The Emirate of Dubai. Government: The Government of Dubai. DTCM: The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. Director General: The director general of the DTCM. Tourist Establishment: A natural or legal person who is licensed to organise tourist tours. Hotel Establishment: A hotel, guest house, or hotel apartment as defined and classified in ©2015 The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai 1Every effort has been made to produce an accurate and complete English version of this legislation. However, for the purpose of its interpretation and application, reference must be made to the original Arabic text. In case of conflict the Arabic text will prevail.

Article (3) At the beginning of each calendar year, the Director General will prepare a list containing the names and details of the annual exhibitions and symposia which the DTCM holds or in which the DTCM participates within or outside of the Emirate.

Article (4) The Director General will determine the fees payable by a Hotel Establishment, a Tourist Establishment, or by any other entity wishing to participate in any exhibition or symposium. Such fees will be paid to the DTCM.

Article (5) In addition to the fees stated in Article (4) of this Regulation, the Director General will assess the expenses and any other charges that must be paid to the DTCM in advance by an entity wishing to participate in an exhibition or symposium.

Article (6) Upon the conclusion of an exhibition or a symposium, the Director General may, as he deems appropriate, refund part of the amounts collected from the participants in such an exhibition or symposium based on the expenses and charges actually incurred by the DTCM.

Article (7) This Regulation will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into force on the day on which it is published.
