    Article 1

    Article (1) DEWA will be governed by the following legislation and any superseding legislation: 1. Law No. (3) of 2003 Establishing the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai; 2. Law No. (19) of 2009 Establishing the Supreme Council of Energy; and 3. Decree No. (23) of 2014 Establishing the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai. ©2023 The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai 1 Every effort has been made to produce an accurate and complete English version of this legislation. However, for the purpose of its interpretation and application, reference must be made to the original Arabic text. In case of conflict, the Arabic text will prevail.

    Article (2) The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DEWA will continue to be a member in the Government councils/boards and committees to which he has been appointed prior to the issuance of the above-mentioned Law No. (27) of 2021. Legal Nature of DEWA Property

    Article 3

    Article (3) DEWA property will be deemed public property and will enjoy all forms of civil and criminal protection prescribed under the legislation in force. Repeals

    Article 4

    Article (4) Any provision in any other legislation is hereby repealed to the extent that it contradicts the provisions of this Decree. Commencement and Publication

    Article 5

    Article (5) This Decree comes into force on the effective date of the above-mentioned Law No. (27) of 2021, and will be published in the Official Gazette. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Ruler of Dubai Issued in Dubai on 6 February 2023 Corresponding to 15 Rajab 1444 A.H.
