Court Order

A court order is a formal decision by a judge that requires a party to act or refrain from acting. Court orders include procedural directions (setting hearing dates, ordering expert appointments), interlocutory rulings (granting a precautionary measure, appointing a receiver), and final orders that end a proceeding. They differ from judgments, which adjudicate the substantive merits. In the UAE, court orders are served through the court's electronic system or a registered process server and are enforceable immediately through the Execution Court unless the issuing court stays enforcement. Non-compliance may result in contempt fines, cancellation of ancillary permissions, or direct execution on the non-compliant party's assets. Court orders are typically subject to appeal within short statutory deadlines (often 30 days).
