Commercial Register
السجل التجاري
The commercial register is the official record of businesses kept by each emirate's economic department (and equivalent registers in free zones), recording the company's name, legal form, owners or partners, managers, capital, activities and branch details. Registration is what gives many corporate facts effect against third parties: counterparties are entitled to rely on what the register shows, so an unregistered change of manager or transfer of shares can leave the old position legally operative toward outsiders. Extracts from the register are standard proof documents in court cases, bank onboarding, tenders and due diligence — when you sue a company, its registered details determine whom you name and where you serve. Keeping it current is a legal obligation, with penalties for stale records. You meet it when verifying a counterparty before signing, updating company details after any change, or pulling an official extract to prove your own company's standing.
