    Article (1) The following words and expressions, wherever mentioned in this Decree, will have the meaning indicated opposite each of them unless the context implies otherwise: UAE: The United Arab Emirates. Emirate: The Emirate of Dubai. DOF: The Department of Finance. ©2019 The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai 1 Every effort has been made to produce an accurate and complete English version of this legislation. However, for the purpose of its interpretation and application, reference must be made to the original Arabic text. In case of conflict, the Arabic text will prevail.

    Article 2

    Article (2) a. Notwithstanding the provisions of the above-mentioned Law No. (14) of 2009 and Law No. (35) of 2009, prices of the Health Services provided by the DHA will be prescribed pursuant to a resolution of the Director General subject to the prior written approval of the DOF. b. The Government Services Pricing Manual prepared by the DOF pursuant to the above-mentioned law No. (14) of 2009 is hereby adopted as a basis for the pricing of the Health Services provided by the DHA. Liability for the Costs of Health Services

    Article 3

    Article (3) a. The patient or his insurance company will be liable for the costs of the Health Services provided by the DHA in accordance to the applicable insurance coverage and the price list adopted by the DHA in this respect. b. Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (a) of this Article, the DOF will be liable for the costs of the Health Services provided by the DHA for the following categories of persons who are not covered by health insurance: 1. UAE nationals; 2. holders of UAE passports who receive initial approvals to be granted the UAE nationality; 3. nationals of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries; 4. patients admitted to DHA hospitals in emergency cases due to accidents, until their conditions stabilise; 5. wives of UAE nationals and wives of holders of UAE passports who receive initial approvals to be granted the UAE nationality and their newborns, in respect to

Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (b) of this Article, the DOF will not be liable for the costs of cosmetic surgery other than those required as a result of accidents.     Article 4

    Article (4) Proceeds of the Health Services provided by the DHA will be paid to the Public Treasury of the Government of Dubai. Repeals

    Article 5

    Article (5) Any provision in any other legislation will be repealed to the extent that it contradicts the provisions of this Decree. Commencement and Publication
