TDRA (Telecommunications & Digital Government Regulatory Authority)
هيئة تنظيم الاتصالات والحكومة الرقمية
The TDRA is the federal authority that regulates the UAE telecommunications sector and drives the digital government agenda. It licenses telecom operators, manages spectrum and the .ae domain space, sets rules on devices and type approval, oversees internet content policy implementation, and operates shared digital infrastructure — including the UAE PASS digital identity that now signs people into government services and lets them digitally sign documents. Consumers meet TDRA rules through telecom complaint escalation when a dispute with an operator stalls, and through blocked or licensed services. Businesses meet it when importing communications equipment, registering .ae domains or building services on UAE PASS. Technology lawyers deal with TDRA in telecom licensing, equipment approvals, content takedown frameworks and the legal recognition of digital signatures executed through UAE PASS.
