    Article 1

    Article (1) a. Notwithstanding the provisions of the above-mentioned Law No. (18) of 2009, the Supreme Council of Energy is hereby determined as the entity having authority in the Emirate of Dubai to exercise all the duties and powers assigned to the Competent Authority under the above-mentioned Federal Law No. (14) of 2017 and the resolutions issued in pursuance thereof. In particular, the Supreme Council of Energy will have the authority to issue Authorisations for Dealing in Petroleum Products in the Emirate of Dubai; to determine the Petroleum Products in which Dealing is authorised and the relevant activities; and to monitor and inspect Authorised Persons. ©2020 The Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai 1Every effort has been made to produce an accurate and complete English version of this legislation. However, for the purpose of its interpretation and application, reference must be made to the original Arabic text. In case of conflict, the Arabic text will prevail.

    Decree No. (8) of 2020 Determining the Competent Authority in the Emirate of Dubai for Purposes of Implementing Federal Law No. (14) of 2017 Concerning Dealing in Petroleum Products Page 2 of 2 b. The Supreme Council of Energy may seek the assistance of public and private entities in exercising the duties and powers assigned to it under paragraph (a) of this Article.     Article (2) All the resolutions issued, prior to the effective date of this Decree by the Supreme Council of Energy in its capacity as the Competent Authority for purposes of implementing the provisions of the above-mentioned Federal Law No. (14) of 2017 and the resolutions issued in pursuance thereof, are deemed valid.
